The central bank’s permanent Leeds base at Capitol House.

The Bank of England is the UK’s central bank, responsible for monetary policy and financial stability. Just under 300 of its colleagues work in Leeds, currently at Yorkshire House. The Bank announced in September 2026 that it will move them to new space at Capitol House on Bond Court in late 2028, and it says its links with the city go back nearly 200 years.
