How to Report an Error

If you believe an article on Leeds Today contains a factual error, please contact us at:

Email: news@leeds.today

Please include the following in your message:

  • The title or URL of the article in question
  • A description of the error
  • The correct information, with a source or reference if available

We aim to review all correction requests within one working day.

How We Handle Corrections

When we confirm that an error has been made, we take one of the following actions depending on the nature and severity of the issue:

Correction: For factual errors such as incorrect figures, misspelled names, wrong dates, or inaccurate job titles, we update the article with the correct information and add a correction notice at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.

Update: For articles where new information has become available that materially changes the story, we update the article and add an update notice explaining what has changed.

Clarification: Where the original reporting was not technically incorrect but was unclear or misleading, we amend the text to improve clarity and add a clarification notice.

Retraction: In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate or based on unreliable information, we will retract the article and publish a notice explaining why.

Transparency

All corrections, updates, and clarifications are noted on the article itself so that readers can see what has changed. We do not silently alter published content without acknowledgement.

Response Time

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within one working day and to publish corrections as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours of confirming the error.
