About Nova Healthcare
Nova Healthcare is a private specialist cancer care provider based within Leeds Cancer Centre at St James's University Hospital. It treats patients with cancer, blood disorders and neurological conditions, working with consultants across anti-cancer drug treatment, radiotherapy and haematology.
It runs the Leeds Gamma Knife Centre, which has treated patients since 2009 and provides non-invasive radiosurgery for brain tumours and other complex brain conditions. The service holds an NHS England contract covering patients across the North of England and also treats privately funded and insured patients.
In November 2026 Nova Healthcare was acquired by Icon Oncology Group, which is also developing an Icon Cancer Centre at AMT Headingley Stadium.
