Private dining in Leeds comes in three forms: a room behind its own door, a semi-private space within a working restaurant, or the whole venue taken for the night. City centre restaurants carry most of it. Restaurant Bar & Grill, in the Old Post Office on City Square, has a private room for 26 with full AV. Browns has rooms for 12 and 20 in a former banking hall on The Headrow, and Gaucho on Park Row has the Mendoza Room for 16. The Cut & Craft in the Victoria Quarter offers private and semi-private dining on its mezzanine.

Hotels add discretion and bedrooms for visiting guests. Malmaison on Swinegate has private event rooms seating up to 150, and Dakota has two private dining rooms. For a larger party, Brasserie Blanc in Victoria Mill offers the whole restaurant for exclusive hire. ⚑ Six by Nico on East Parade offers full venue hire, and Harewood House hosts dinners for 80 in its Gallery.

This guide orders venues by the seated capacity of their largest private dining room, with the source and year for each figure. Venues that do not publish a figure follow A to Z.

Questions

Good to know

How many private dining are there in Leeds?

This guide lists 13 private dining working in Leeds. Entries are added as Leeds Today confirms them, so the list grows over time.

Which are the largest private dining in Leeds?

By largest private dining room (people), the largest are Malmaison Leeds (150), Harewood House (80) and Restaurant Bar & Grill Leeds (26), from the most recent published figures.

Private room or exclusive hire?

A private room gives you privacy inside a working restaurant: same kitchen, same service, your own door. Exclusive hire takes the whole venue and usually means a minimum spend. It is easier to secure midweek.

Which rooms work for business dinners?

For client entertaining with a presentation, look for a room with a screen and AV. Hotel dining rooms pair privacy with bedrooms for visiting guests. For a purely social evening, the setting and the menu matter more than the kit.
