The bank's 18-strong Briggate team is back serving customers in a refitted city centre branch with private meeting spaces and phone-enabled cash machines.
Lloyds has reopened its branch on Briggate in Leeds city centre after a £1 million refurbishment, with an 18-strong team now serving customers. The Lloyds Briggate branch at 65-68 Briggate welcomed its first customers back on Monday 2 November 2026, handing out goody bags and cake. Lloyds says the work has created a brighter, more modern space for people to get help with their banking face to face.
Why This Matters For Leeds
Lloyds is investing in its Leeds city centre branch while closing smaller sites elsewhere, a sign that Briggate remains a priority for face-to-face banking. City centre businesses gain a dedicated space and phone-enabled cash machines close to the main shopping streets. The refit gives shoppers and office workers another reason to visit Briggate for everyday banking.

The refurbishment has given the branch more room and more places to talk, including separate areas for more complex conversations and new meeting spaces where customers can have more privacy. There are also dedicated areas for help with online and mobile banking and new multi-function machines where customers can withdraw and deposit cash.
Business customers have their own space, with new machines that let them pay in or take out cash using their phone.
The branch is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10am to 4.30pm on Wednesday and from 9.30am to 3pm on Saturday.
Daniel Robinson, senior manager for Lloyds Briggate, said: “The team and I are really happy to welcome customers back through our doors on Briggate.”
Daniel said the team wants people to feel they can come in at any stage, adding: “Whether you’re looking for a little reassurance or a more detailed conversation, we’re here to help people across Leeds feel more confident about their finances.”
“Customers are welcome to come in with everyday banking questions, not just when you have a bigger decision to make.”

Lloyds branch investment in big cities
Leeds is the latest large city branch to be refitted by Lloyds this year. In July the bank reopened its Birmingham New Street branch after an investment of more than £1 million and its Bristol Cabot Circus branch after a refurbishment of close to £1 million. Its Stockport branch reopened on 23 October after a £720,000 refit.
The spending on bigger city branches runs alongside a continuing programme of branch closures across Lloyds Banking Group as more customers move to app and online banking.
In Leeds city centre, the investment follows Metro Bank signing a lease on Commercial Street in March and Leeds Building Society’s pledge to keep all its branches open to 2031.
Lloyds Banking Group also has a large office presence in the city at 11 and 12 Wellington Place, which group chief executive Charlie Nunn officially opened in June 2024.
