Caddick Joins £1.5bn YORbuild Public Sector Framework

Caddick Construction secures a position on the £600m Lot 1 of YORbuild’s Major Works 2 Framework, opening access to public sector projects across Yorkshire, the North East, and the East Midlands for the first time

Caddick Construction has been appointed to the £1.5 billion YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework for the first time, securing a position on the £600 million Lot 1 for projects valued between £10 million and £30 million. The appointment opens access to public sector construction work across Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East, and large parts of the East Midlands. The company has built its reputation through private sector work, delivering 1,925 homes at South Village, expanding Elland Road stadium, building the room2 hotel on Lisbon Street, and completing a £35 million warehouse for Haribo. The YORbuild appointment marks a strategic expansion into public sector delivery. The framework is extensively used by local authorities, health bodies, education providers, and blue light services for procuring construction works with an emphasis on social value, low carbon delivery, and modern methods of construction.

The YORbuild framework gives Caddick access to health, education, and local authority projects funded by the kind of public investment Leeds Today has previously covered: the £334 million WYCA Housing Fund, the West Yorkshire Promise’s construction placements, and the devolved spending Burnham’s Number 10 North promises to accelerate. This £375 million turnover contractor now has a route into public sector delivery across three regions.

Caddick’s Expanding Framework Portfolio

The YORbuild appointment adds to a growing public sector framework portfolio. Caddick Construction was recently appointed to four lots of the Department for Education’s new £15 billion Construction Framework 2025, positioning the company to deliver school and education projects nationally. Combined with YORbuild, the firm now has access to public sector work across education, health, local authority, and emergency services sectors. It reported turnover of £375 million, pre-tax profit of £4.5 million, and a forward order book of over £1.4 billion. The company employs more than 500 people across offices in Wakefield, Durham, Warrington, Kendal, and Birmingham.
