Earlier than you’d expect. Fridays and Saturdays in December start selling from late summer and are often gone by mid-autumn and large venues of 500+ capacities can easily be taken by a single company for a private party. If you’ve got an idea of the type of party you want, the best advice is definitely sooner rather than later.
Shared nights give small groups a big-venue experience; you book a table at a professionally run event and benefit from a great atmosphere. Exclusive hire makes sense from around 80+ guests, when you want the room to yourselves.
Shared nights take groups of all sizes; you can book your own table, or a group of tables in a bigger room or, in some cases, you may be joining other smaller party guest numbers to make up a table together. Exclusive hire on peak nights usually carries minimum numbers, though midweek minimums will drop considerably.
Generally speaking, most party packages will include an arrival drink, a two or three course festive meal and a DJ or entertainment until late. The bigger party venues may add drinks packages during dinner, additional courses and live performances.
Depending on the venue & date you choose, packages can vary significantly. Anything between £35 - £80 per person is considered typical.
Usually, an arrival glass is included in the package as standard, some more expensive packages may include further drinks but it's more likely that you’ll be offered a drinks package to purchase in advance. And there’s always the bar - check if bar tabs are available and if they accept both card & cash.
