Geely Dealership Leeds: Lookers Opens First Showroom

Leeds has its first Geely dealership. Lookers, which has operated in the city since the 1960s, has opened a dedicated Geely showroom inside its existing Ford site on York Road. The Chinese electric vehicle brand — backed by the group behind Volvo, Polestar and Lotus — launched in the UK last year and is now expanding rapidly, with Leeds among its latest additions.

Geely entered the UK market in October 2025 with the EX5, a compact electric SUV. It has since added the Starray EM-I to its line-up. The brand exceeded its initial target of 50 UK dealers by the end of 2025 and is pushing towards 100 by the end of this year. Lookers, one of the UK’s largest dealer groups, described the Leeds opening as a natural extension of its long-standing presence in the city.

A Growing EV Presence in Leeds

The new Geely dealership in Leeds adds another name to the growing list of EV brands establishing themselves in the city. With Leeds’ push towards cleaner transport and continued investment in its automotive retail corridor along York Road, the move reflects broader confidence in the city as a key regional market for electric vehicles. Geely has ambitious plans for the UK, targeting annual sales of 100,000 vehicles and around 10 new models over the next three years.
