Outdo Leeds becomes the city’s largest outdoor media owner by number of sites after securing a major Leeds City Council contract covering the Headrow, Briggate, and Boar Lane
West Yorkshire outdoor media company Outdo Leeds has become the largest outdoor advertising operator in the city by number of sites, after securing a major contract from Leeds City Council. The deal sees Outdo now manage more than 2,000 advertising sites across Leeds, spanning lamppost banners, roundabout sponsorship, and lightboxes across key routes including the Headrow, Briggate, and Boar Lane. The company’s wider Leeds portfolio also includes a digital screen near Elland Road and coverage extending to Leeds Bradford Airport, Headingley, Otley, and Wetherby.
Why This Matters For Leeds
A West Yorkshire company winning the contract to manage Leeds’ outdoor advertising network is a local procurement win worth noting. The 2,000 sites cover the city’s highest-footfall areas and main routes. For local businesses and advertisers, the single operator model should make it simpler to plan city-wide campaigns.
What the Outdo Leeds Contract Covers
The network spans three main formats: lamppost banners on high-traffic routes, roundabout sponsorship at key junctions, and lightboxes in pedestrian areas. The contract covers central Leeds locations including the Headrow, Briggate, and Boar Lane, as well as a digital screen in the Elland Road area. Outdo’s reach extends beyond the city centre to Leeds Bradford Airport, Headingley, Otley, and Wetherby. The company is already working with clients including White Rose Shopping Centre, Opera North, and Leeds Arts University. Outdo says the network allows advertisers to deliver full city takeovers combining multiple formats across high-impact, multi-touchpoint campaigns.
“”Leeds is a hugely important city for us, and as a West Yorkshire-based business, it’s particularly meaningful to strengthen our presence here. On a personal note, as a long-standing Leeds fan, having our sites live around Elland Road is definitely a highlight.””
— Mike Brennan, CEO, Outdo
Outdo’s Growing Yorkshire Footprint
The Leeds contract adds to Outdo Leeds’ existing agreements across Yorkshire, including North Yorkshire, Kirklees, Wakefield, Barnsley, and Calderdale. The company now operates more than 33,000 sites nationwide, making it the largest Northern-based outdoor media owner by number of sites. Recent contract wins also include Wales, Scotland, and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Outdo says the Leeds win reflects growing demand from regional advertisers and agencies for large-scale outdoor campaigns outside London, particularly in high-growth cities. With a population of over 800,000, Leeds offers significant reach for brands looking to connect with audiences across the North. For Leeds-based businesses, the consolidated network under a single West Yorkshire operator should make it easier to plan and book campaigns covering the city centre, main arterial routes, and the wider city region without dealing with multiple media owners.
