Xypher Opens Leeds Cyber Security Office

The private equity-backed platform has taken space in the Platform building above the station, adding to Leeds’ cyber security cluster

A private equity-backed cyber security group has opened a Leeds office as it builds out a national platform at speed. Xypher, formed just over a year ago and already more than 150 people strong, has taken space in the Platform building above Leeds station, starting with a 13-strong team. The move adds another name to Leeds’ growing cyber security cluster and reflects a fast-moving buy-and-build: the group has pulled together several established UK cyber firms since 2025. For a city positioning itself as a tech and professional-services centre, another cyber operator choosing Leeds is a useful signal.

Why This Matters For Leeds

Inward investment in cyber is exactly the kind of growth Leeds wants; these are skilled, well-paid roles, and a national platform basing sales and recruitment in the city helps keep graduate talent here rather than losing it to London. Each firm that lands also strengthens the cluster, making Leeds a more obvious choice for the next one, and for the customers and investors who follow. With Xentra funded this month and Xypher arriving now, the city’s cyber scene is having a strong run.

Who Is Xypher, and Why Leeds?

The group is backed by London mid-market private equity firm Limerston Capital, which identified cyber security as a growth market and began assembling the platform in May 2025. Since then it has acquired CyberCrowd, DigitalXRAID, IntaForensics and Aristi, bringing together penetration testing, managed threat detection, incident response, digital forensics and compliance under one roof. Trade coverage puts the group’s revenue at around £20m. It is led by chief executive Matthew Parker, a serial technology leader who previously helped scale the cloud and communications group Babble. The new Leeds base will house a team of sales specialists in the landmark Platform building directly above the city’s main station.

Another Name in Leeds’ Cyber Cluster

Xypher lands in a city that has quietly built one of the UK’s stronger regional cyber security scenes. It joins home-grown names such as AppCheck, Boxphish, Cognisys, Precursor and Assured Data Protection, along with Xentra, which raised £2.7m only this month. Cyber is one of the faster-growing corners of tech, with double-digit annual growth, and Leeds offers the mix these firms want: technology and professional-services depth, and a steady flow of graduates from the city’s universities. The Platform building itself has become a hub for digital employers. A national operator choosing Leeds for a sales and growth base, rather than a purely London operation, adds to the case that the city is becoming a genuine cyber destination.
