Leeds-based software developer Decodifi has merged with Brough-headquartered Vensis to create a combined business that uses AI tools to cut software development cycles by up to 80%, targeting businesses held back by legacy systems.
The merger brings together Vensis’ established client base—including McCain Foods, OneSubsea, Serco, Kent County Council and Cranswick Country Foods—with Decodifi’s AI-first development framework that dramatically reduces labour-intensive tasks.
Decodifi, based at North Lane House in Headingley with 25 years’ combined team experience, has evolved from low-code origins into a specialist AI-native developer, building minimum viable products for healthtech startup Life Dash and digitally transforming logistics provider TFS Express.
Ben Geldeard, Managing Director of Vensis, said:
“We’re bringing together two talented teams of developers to build better software, faster. Vensis has a strong track record in complex, data-driven systems, and with Decodifi’s AI expertise, we can deliver even more value, faster, for our clients. But it’s important to recognise that speed never comes at the expense of architectural integrity, from initial prototypes to enterprise-grade systems.”
Disrupting Traditional Development Landscape
Charlie Bartle, CEO of Decodifi, will continue to advise the new business, said:
“This merger is more than a strategic move; it’s a disruption of the traditional development landscape. Having already seen significant success with the projects our team has delivered using this framework, we have proven that our AI-first approach can outperform legacy cycles by fivefold. By joining forces with Vensis, we are doubling down on that bold vision and will combine raw innovation with enterprise scale to fundamentally break the slow, costly norms of the software industry.”
The combined business will operate from both Leeds and Brough locations, serving clients across the UK requiring faster delivery, broader technical capability and improved scalability for digital transformation projects.
Why this matters for Leeds
This merger positions Leeds at the forefront of AI-driven software development, demonstrating how the city’s tech companies are pioneering practical AI applications that solve real business problems rather than pursuing hype. Decodifi’s proven ability to accelerate development cycles while maintaining quality shows Leeds can compete with national tech hubs in cutting-edge businesses.![]()
