West Yorkshire businesses can now access comprehensive support through an expanded Business Growth Hub offering a “no wrong door” approach, connecting companies to finance, skills, innovation and markets regardless of which service they contact first.
The initiative brings together public and private support organisations into West Yorkshire’s largest business network, eliminating confusion over where to find appropriate help for growth challenges.
The Growth Hub connects businesses to resources based on their goals, sector or capability needs through a “Wheel of Enterprise” model addressing six key access points: place, finance, skills, innovation, markets and better business practices.
Single Point Simplifies Business Support Access
The Growth Hub removes barriers between small businesses and world-class resources, providing direct lines to university labs, specialist mentors and government funding. Businesses can create accounts to save searches and receive personalised recommendations.
Support covers starting businesses, running and growing operations, international trade and export, and investment opportunities. The network includes specialist support for creative industries, digital technology and green economy businesses through dedicated programmes.
The hub forms part of the national Business Growth Service network backed by UK government, ensuring West Yorkshire businesses access both regional and national support through coordinated delivery.
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said:
“West Yorkshire is where opportunity lives, and our hundred thousand businesses will be the driving force behind our growth and prosperity for years to come.
“Whether you’re launching a startup, growing your order book, investing in innovation or embracing the green transition, there will be no wrong door for you to access a world of support through the West Yorkshire Business Growth Hub.
“By boosting our fastest growing sectors and backing our small and medium-sized businesses to grow and succeed, we’ll drive growth, create good jobs, and put more money in people’s pockets.”
Why this matters for Leeds
The Growth Hub consolidates fragmented business support into a single access point, saving Leeds businesses time navigating complex ecosystems while ensuring they find appropriate help regardless of entry point. By removing barriers to support, Leeds businesses—particularly SMEs and underrepresented entrepreneurs—can access resources previously difficult to find, strengthening the city’s business ecosystem and enabling more companies to scale successfully.![]()
