Domo, the acclaimed Sardinian restaurant that made its name in Sheffield, is opening its second venue in Leeds this spring. The new restaurant in Leeds will occupy a 2,841 sq ft canal-side space at Tower Works in Holbeck, offering around 95 covers inside and outdoor seating for 25.
Founded in Sheffield’s Kelham Island in 2019 by husband-and-wife team Sarah Elliott-Busceddu and Raffaele Busceddu, Domo has built a loyal following for its authentic Sardinian cooking. The restaurant features in The Good Food Guide, won Best Italian Restaurant (Over 50 Seats) at the 2022 Italian Awards, and took Best Restaurant at the Exposed Awards the same year.
What to expect from the new restaurant in Leeds
Everything at Domo is made in-house — bread, pasta, sauces and desserts, prepared on site by hand every day. The menu champions dishes rarely seen outside Sardinia: hand-folded culurgiones, malloreddus, seafood fregola, spaghetti with sea urchin, and slow-roasted suckling pig feasts made for sharing. Desserts include seadas, the traditional Sardinian fried pastry served with honey.
The drinks list stays firmly on the island too, with Cannonau, Vermentino and other Sardinian wines chosen for the table. Domo Leeds will also offer a daily lunch menu with takeaway options and weekend breakfasts, making it an all-day destination for the South Bank.
Sarah Elliott-Busceddu said:
“Opening our second restaurant feels incredibly special. Domo started as a shared dream, built from years of hard work and a deep love for Sardinian food culture, and to be bringing that passion to Leeds is a huge milestone for us.
“We both spend a lot of time in Leeds and we absolutely love the city and the people. When we discovered the site at Tower Works, we knew instantly it had to be the home of Domo Leeds. We’re so excited to join the incredible indie food scene here and become part of the local community.”

Why this matters for Leeds
Domo’s arrival is a vote of confidence in Leeds’ independent food scene — and in the South Bank’s growing appeal as a hospitality destination. Tower Works is rapidly establishing itself as a dining hub alongside the wider Mustard Wharf development. For a restaurant with Domo’s reputation to choose Leeds as its second site signals that the city can attract serious culinary operators from across Yorkshire and beyond. ![]()
